Audition Info
Right now, we have 13 girls in the project, so auditions are only open for boys!
With that said.....
If you're interested in joining DJP, great!
You must fill out this Google Docs form to apply, right here.
But you need all the info to answer all of those questions! And here it is (read thoroughly):
A History of DJ Project
The brainchild of Thea, we decided to put it into action when I first messaged her to say that I thought she was a good singer, and lamented the fact that there aren't many groups out there that allow guys to sing.
So after much brainstorming, we decided on a format, how to run things, and DJ Project was born! :D
Danshi Joshi Project means "Boy Girl Project," and anyone of any gender is free to join! No restrictions.
We only discriminate against different species; your dog can't join :P
//lame joke
(Also, if we accept you, you can pick and choose different themes for the forum! You can ask for your own special one in your favorite color with your favorite member (past or present, any group!), here.)
About The Groups
DJ Project has 7 main groups:
Minna Musu., the Morning Musume cover group
Raspberryz, the Berryz Koubou cover group
ºK~awaii, the C-ute cover group
S/hineage, the S/mileage cover group
Rain=bow, the Juice=Juice cover group
Carino!, the Buono! cover group
Mochigomin, the sign-up casted group (only available to join after you finish all your lines for the singles you're on)
As well as DJ Project, where every member of DJ Project, no matter what group they're in, participates in a release.
Every member is shuffled into one or more of those groups (except Mochigomin), depending on preference. So you can be in both Minna Musu and K-awaii if you want, if there is room. 3 Max.
This is a project that is Hello! Project based. We do Hello! Project, and we do Hello! Project. Any group that is currently, or used to be, under Hello! Project. You like other J-Pop? Awesome! There are other forums for that. We also do NOT cover other UFP groups and soloists such as Kikkawa Yuu, Up Up Girls, Stylips, Ongaku Gatas, etc.
About Recording For DJ Pro
Follow these EXTREMELY closely. Do not skip out on this part, it's the most important part, after all.
These are rules that will NOT change.
1. We only accept .mp3, .ogg or .wav file formats, so please record using those. Any other formats will result in asking for a redo.
2. Do not trim anything off of your file, including the beginning. Mixing is much easier this way.
3. Files should be named songname_yourname_groupname. It's okay to shorten the names if it's a song that has an obivous title (e.g, you don't have to name it Ambitious! Yashinteki de Ii Jan_Ryan_MinnaMusu, you can shorten it to Ambitious!_Ryan_MinnaMusu. Do NOT shorten titles like Koi no Dance Site to just "Koi_yourname," that will be very confusing)
4. Sing EVERYTHING on the lyric sheets that is in your color! It does not matter if it's in (parenthesis), you still have to sing it.
5. Also, like the above, if something isn't in the lyric sheet that isn't assigned to you (like a Wow! or something like that), DO NOT sing it. No adlibbing unless we give you permission.
6. If you need help recording something, like perhaps harmonies, feel free to ask some of the other members, we won't bite!
7. Deadlines are final! DO NOT ask for an extension if the deadline is one day away, it will not be granted. You may ask up to a week before a deadline.
I'd rather you ask for a deadline extension if you are uncertain, rather than not turn in parts at all. Do not say you didn't have enough to learn the songs, either, you get a month and a half to get your files in.
If you miss the deadline you have a few days to come up with your excuse before Thea starts hounding you and the consequences escalate.
However! If we miss a Wow! or something that IS in the song, please tell us! We would like those parts done, but only if they are already in the song.
Our Policy On Solo Lines
We will try our best to keep solo lines even. We will never give anyone more or less, no matter what seniority they have within the group, so please do not ask us to give you more because you've been in the group longer.
On songs that are already even (like Maji Desu ka Ska), we will basically assign you guys to different parts, but on songs that are VERY uneven (One-Two-Three), we will color-code it ourselves and make the lines even.
Picking Representatives (If they are going to be used)
1. Everyone gets one rep from the group they are in to apply to the single.
2. Stick to the time period of your group! If you are doing Ambitious! Yashinteki de Ii jan, do not ask for Kudo Haruka as a rep. Was she in the group at the time? No? Then you can't use her.
3. First come first serve basis. You can claim your rep AFTER you turn in your lines.
General Forum Rules
Regarding the Avatar and Signatures used on the DJP forums. Your avatar optimally should be 150x150. This is flexible.
Signatures, however, should only be 200 pixels in height. Maximum. Less than 100 is preferred. Also, your signature should not exceed 3 visible lines of content.
Please refrain from posting more than once with no posts between the two (referred to as a Double Post) within a 24 hour period.
Inactivity
If we don't see you logged onto the board for at least a week, without giving me or Thea some reason, you get the boot.
Since one of our friends on here was abusing this rule, it has been changed. Just logging onto the board does NOT change your inactivity status.
You must actually post, and tell me why it is that you are not doing your lines. You can't just keep logging in on the board and think that will save you.
Even if you just get on to check and tell us why your lines are late will keep you from getting booted.
You have a few days after the deadline. This does not mean "Oh, I can turn in my lines after the deadline." It means you have days to tell me why you did not do your lines on time.
What You Can Do To Help
Review! We put a lot of work into making a release, between the mixing, making videos, and, of course, the actual singing itself. It's very rewarding to hear even a little praise, such as "I listened to it, and it sounded great!"
With that said.....
